My first Ann Patchett read… certainly will not be my last. This is my favorite book of 2026 & one of my faves of all time. So enchanting and such a simple premise but such a layered way of letting it unravel. Love, love, love!

Oh man, nothing beats a cookout tray where you can get a 1/4 lb burger with a side of chicken nuggets, onion rings and one of 40 milkshake flavors for <$10. All southerners are required to like this place. Plus their mascot, shakey, is a zany work of art.

Chocolate krunch ice cream bars

I normally hate when c’s are replaced with k’s… but these ice cream bars bring me so much joy that I’ll let it slide.
