Landet Stay
7 cabins on a nature preserve in Sweden. Affordable if you split (2BR cabins), beautiful design, they stock the fridge so you can make your breakfast. No administrative building or restaurant. Makes you want to make a Bergman movie. An hour and a half south of Stockholm with water access to the 55,000 island archipelago. You gotta travel far for that kinda peace and quiet.
ONAR Andros
Went with three friends and we paid 2400 for a full week in a gorgeous house (600 each). Three bathrooms. Beach right out of the Odyssey…swans literally appeared while we were swimming. Delicious abundant fresh food, quick ferry from Athens - caveat long and windy drive from town to hotel (take a cab and plan not to leave for your whole stay).

No better way to pass the time with your elderly parents in the car (am I the only person spending a lot of time with my elderly parents in the car?). Insanely cozy British guys knowing everything about history and making it fun. Loved the Joan of Arc and Harald Hardrada series.
