Circe
Greek mythology, powerful women, herb craft and a mother’s love. I know a book is good when I read it twice. It’s been 6 years since I first read Circe and both times I slammed through it in a matter of days. The story is so visceral, I can taste the waves, the island, the draughts, the wrath of the gods.

Stay True
College, the 90s, the bay, unlikely friendships, growing up, grief. Stay True makes me nostalgic for a life that wasn't mine, but whose outline took a similar shape. I’ll read it a million times just to break my own heart.

the lightest object in the universe
The end of modern society, evangelical radio propaganda, bike messengers, community building, long walks across the country. The Lightest Object in the Universe is told from the perspective of 3 narrators with hopes of survival in the new world that has emerged after the grid went out and the government collapsed. Dark, but hopeful. Will make you want to buy a bike if you don’t already have one.

lovers rock
My playlist for postpartum feels. Sade apparently wrote this album specifically for me to be able to cry to post emergency c-section while overwhelmed with love for my daughter. This is an entire chapter in the book of me.
