ict by Oklou (& the whole Choke Enough album)
Summer in a song, ict captures the exhilaration of chasing the ice cream truck —heart and feet pumping, just praying the truck will hit a stop sign so you can catch up— and feels like it stretches to resonate with every dream-chasing feeling in life. Blade bird is another standout but album is perfect to me!

The Forgotten Beasts of Eld by Patricia McKillip
This story has stayed with me since reading as a child, when I fell in love with every mythical creature Sybel calls to her castle’s crystal observatory. Sybel herself was a blueprint for my own loneliness, broadening my ideas of independence to include interdependence, and oh the liralen! The liralen elegantly teaches a timeless lesson of the inextricable link between love and freedom. I recently revisited this book, reading it in one day under the shade of my backyard’s maple tree, and was once again astonished by its singular prose and heart-stoking story.

Self-Portrait of David Wojnarowicz
Saw it in 2018 at the Whitney and haven’t stopped thinking about it since. Wojnarowicz was a brilliant multimedia artist and activist prominent in the 80s who's work reflects his experience being gay in the AIDS crisis, and facing his mortality. He ended up dying from AIDS related complications at the way too young age of 37.

Camper Shoes
The best made shoes, with the coolest designs like the iconic twins series, always reinventing what a shoe can look like and feel like, and often using recycled materials. Some of these truly feel like walking on gummy bears they are so comfortable.
