Designed for thick and curly hair, this lovely comb from France gets top-tier placement on my vanity—perched on the edge of a mother-of-pearl jewelry dish that shows off my most-prized pairs of earrings (namely, the 1980s deadstock cherub dangles). Reason being: It's gorgeous and I reach for it multiple times per day—to pull back my gym ponytail, to work leave-in conditioner into wet hair (yes, it's that gentle), and to quickly fluff up my bedhead bangs in the morning. I chose to get my comb engraved with my name and it was worth the incremental cost.
Vintage 1950s Mother-of-Pearl Shell Caviar Dish for Jewelry
I find vintage caviar dishes are always designed in such a way that suggests something special sits inside (for good reason, of course), which makes them ideal for housing your prettiest jewelry pieces. I scooped up one of these iridescent shells at an antiques market about five or so years ago to cradle a few favorite adornments, and I'm delighted to see that there are similar styles available on Etsy. The option currently linked here also has little feet(!).
