My Rec League Starter Pack

Lemon squeezer

stores flat, gets every last drop out, does not require muscles

The Party, by Elizabeth Day

Look, things are not good. So just read this book about fancy British people instead of thinking about that. It came out like a decade ago so it’s probably available on Libby right this instant.

Self tanner

The first time I bought this, I accidentally got medium-dark even though I’m pretty pasty. But you know what? It’s perfect. I don’t bother with any sort of preparation. I just slap this on a couple times a week and I look like a regular person instead of a vampire. I have never even read the instructions. Are you supposed to rinse it off? No idea, but I don’t.

More Is More: Get Loose in the Kitchen: A Cookbook

I think Molly Baz doesn’t quite get her due because she’s very Gen Z or something, but her recipes work! She’s into strong flavors, which I enjoy. Also, this book has these cute “cook along” thingies where she’s actually in your ear while you cook, keeping you company and helping you understand the pacing of a recipe. I have a ton of cookbooks and I’m a pretty advanced cook, and I think Molly is undervalued!
