I'll start with my all-time favourite: 'This Is the Sea' by The Waterboys. Forty minutes of Mike Scott at his best. It's the high-water mark of that 'big music' sound, and I've never got tired of a single second of it. 'The Pan Within' floors me every time I hear it — just perfection.
'The Suicide Handbook' by Ryan Adams
Recorded in 2001, shelved by the label, and passed around as a bootleg ever since — finally its been released. Ryan at his most stripped back and least guarded.
Balmuda The Clock
I really love the design of this. Machined from a single block of aluminium, palm-sized, no hands — just soft light doing the work of telling the time.
'Trophies for Lovemaking' - The Cobbs
Twenty tracks, originally released back in 1999 under the name Ty Cobb, and one of those records that seems to have passed almost everyone by — it only really resurfaced when it turned up on streaming a few years ago. I've never understood why it isn't better known. 'Wondering' is the one I'd point anyone to first.
