Deleting apps from your home screen
Deleting almost everything except simple daily use apps clears the digital clutter and brings the phone back to being a phone. No more swiping through three pages of apps. Just the stuff you need often on one screen and the rest you can access in the App Library. I love the idea of a dumb phone but can’t really do it, I need maps, weather, music… all the things for keeping up with work and kids.. (freaking TeamSnap!). This is a lovely middle ground. Banish apps you want to have access to and don’t need to see every day to the very easily accessible App Library. #freethehomescreen

Get chickens
Have you spent 15 years trying to convince your husband to move out of the city? Do you dream of living a farm life where the kids wander acres? Will you spend the rest of your life in this house in the city? Backyard chickens lets you live your dreams. A little farm life escape in the city. A reason to go outside all the time. Is it a pain in the ass? Yes. Is it fun to have fresh colorful eggs? Yes. Do you have an excuse to spend an hour a week listening to an audiobook outside while you scoop poop and clean your coop? Yes. Is it fun to surprise your friends and neighbors with eggs? Yes. It is ridiculously expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes?

Take your kids to concerts.
A couple years ago we had plans to go to a concert with friends but she got in an accident that day and couldn’t go. We scrambled to find another couple to join but no one could, so we canceled our babysitter and brought the kids. Turns out it’s awesome family time and super fun. Now I’d rather give them concert tickets as gifts than some junk toy I’ll donate in a few months. Plus it helps you raise cool people. Don’t forget earplugs for everyone because we still want to hear in 30 years.

Watch Women’s Sports
The level of play is incredible. The access to the athletes is unmatched. The tickets are affordable. The vibes are so good. 10/10 recommend. Your kids will have all the autographs. You’ll run into your favorite athlete in the airport, at the local park, in a coffee shop and they’ll be so sweet and kind to your little athletes. It’s all the goodness of why we love sports not (yet) marred by huge money and celebrity.
