Franny and zooey

Perfect book. Fits easily in a pocket

Metropolitan (dir Whit Stillman)

Barcelona is arguably even nearer to my heart but if any whit Stillman movie is recommendable en masse then it’s this by default. That said, so genius, I wish I could justify telling everyone I like to watch it. (But it’s basically plotless, just wit and irony for ~2 hours). Very Austen-esque. Came to mind because I have no one around to make an UHB joke to.

Martin’s Tavern

For the uninitiated: the location of both JFK’s proposal to Jackie O as well as the writing of his inaugural address. My only spot in dc that stacks up with my favorite nyc spots. Actually this and comet pizza. I make sure to go every time I’m back
