probably the priciest item in my closet, but most worn. i saved up birthday gift certificates because i knew this jacket would be a winner. perfectly oversized and slouchy, yet also structured enough to be interesting. i love the shorter sleeves and huge pockets. currently considering saving up another couple of years of birthday gift certificates for a different color…

trader joe’s shea butter coconut mask - but just use like regular conditioner. especially amazing for fine/tangly kids hair, but i use it as my conditioner too. it rinses out very easily and honestly i sometimes use it as leave in conditioner for my curly haired kid and it’s not greasy/heavy

restorative, creative and life maintenance balance

i’m also a social worker and did this a few years ago. i really wish it could be normalized as a restorative practice to make our work sustainable every 18 months or so!i honestly was surprised how how easily the time got sucked up with regular life. sick kids, cleaning/chores, etc. i made a commitment to take longer walks outside at least three days a week and this felt special and restorative. i did a few lunch dates with friends. i kind of wish i had taken a solo trip, even for just a weekend. to do something totally out of my regular routine to start off my break in a more dramatic way - which also might have been helpful for intention setting away from the pull of daily tasks… i hope it is the break you need and may we all get more of them! ❤️
