Shubeik Lubeik
Fantastic graphic novel following three people's stories and experiences (focusing on class, mental health, and choices) in a world where wishes are commodities. Unnamed Arabic country. My favorite read of 2026. Such a rich story.
Ordinary Abundance
A lovely visual essay exploring the amazing things of regular life that our ancestors and predecessors would marvel at.
Vogue's Objects of Affection
I love to snoop in people's houses, and this series gives peaks into the rich and famous' weird fancy stuff and their storied objects. Moreso I just really want to do this with my friends and family. But I still enjoy Vogue's - the first one with Edie Campbell stays my favorite.
Ace by Angela Chen
Chen gave me language around sexual desire, attraction, and behavior years ago. Her nuance and openness is lovely. The book got me thinking about big questions around sex, sexuality, romance, disability, consent. What if romance didn't determine rights to benefits of partnership/marriage? What if sex doesn't drive a relationship. Easy to read, recommend whether you're ace or not. If you want a taste before jumping into a book, her podcast interview with Ev'Yan Whitney is great.
