The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak
Transports the reader so effectively to beautiful and affecting places.
Garth Marenghi's Darkplace
Might well be the best worst supernatural soap opera, set in a hospital that's also a portal to hell, ever made. Deliciously silly and funny 6 part show that's well worth tracking down. A joy, basically.
Morning Phase - Beck
Beautiful, melancholic songs, at once comforting and dark. Every note seems to serve the pared-back tone, feeling and rhythm of the album. An understated gem.
Christmas in Copenhagen
Copenhagen is so livable and cool so of course they get Christmas so right. Tivoli Gardens, wonderful food (pastries of dreams), cosiness by design. And I think being beautifully lit might be a human right here.
