The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle

This was my first Murakami book. I stayed up late, carried it to work so I could read it during breaks, could not get it out of my head. I have since read many of his books but this started it all.

Inconspicuous Consumption: An Obsessive

My first purchase on Amazon, made in July 1997. Written by the genius Paul Lukas after years of publishing his excellent zine Beer Frame.

Amelie

Sweet, funny and beautifully filmed. I always cry with joy a little bit at the end.

Detectorists

A wonderful, gentle, hilarious show. Absolutely perfect.
