Helvetica (Gary Hustwit)
One of the best documentaries I’ve seen in a while. Design is everywhere and Helvetica is ubiquitous. Was writing down quotes from this in my journal throughout the whole thing. Also quite a beautiful and minimal visual experience. “Don’t confuse legibility with communication. Just because something’s legible doesn’t mean it communicates the right thing.”
Santa Barbara Botanic Garden
Visited with my family yesterday for Mother’s Day. My mom is a native plant fanatic and our wandering through the garden converted my dad into being one too. Lots of beautiful sights and smells. Fantastically designed handouts.
Autumn Perspective by Vanessa Daou
Heard this on KCRW on my way home from yoga class last night. Spoken word over a dancey new-agey beat. Can’t stop listening.
Gin Gins Chewy Ginger Candy
I keep some of these in every bag. So chewy so gingery. Great for motion sickness and upset stomach too.
